A wedge anchor is a mechanical type expansion anchor that consists of four parts: the threaded anchor body, the expansion clip, a nut, and a washer. It is designed for use in solid concrete only. These anchors provide the highest and most consistent holding values of any mechanical type expansion anchor.
This pre-assembled high strength, fully threaded, and torque-controlled expansion anchor has a unique safety shoulder in the expansion cone that supports a thick 3-dimple clip engineered to provide high load carrying capability and reduce slip in a variety of installation conditions. Nut and washer included.

How deep do wedge anchors need to be?

When installing a wedge anchor, it's important to have a minimum of 2-1/2 inches embedded into the concrete. There should also be at least an inch exposed, enough for the attaching material to grab onto.
